A Timeless Sanctuary in the Heart of the Dordogne

The Grounds
Set amongst the vines, woods and sunflowers of South Dordogne, the 7 hectare (20 acre) estate offers the perfect haven of peace and tranquillity.
Set back from the road by 150m or so, the front garden is extensive and is ideal for sports requiring space.
Immediately to the rear of the chateau is a well-manicured lawn, lined with beautifully kept borders, and finally encircled with mature oaks. The large swimming pool is located conveniently, but discreetly, to the side – offering complete privacy and yet enjoy fabulous west-facing views – the perfect spot from which to enjoy our wonderful sunsets.
To the rear are private woods – left more “au naturel” but with kept tracks forging paths that will draw you into nature. A clearing in the middle offers a wonderfully shaded area for group yoga sessions, whilst glimpses over the lake can be enjoyed en-route.
The lake itself is stocked with carp – fishermen are welcome to try their luck – quieter guests may enjoy ducks, leaping fish, and might even spy the odd kingfisher.
- Landscaped designed gardens
- Fishing lake
- Private woods
The Swimming Pool
The swimming pool is the distillation of every wonderful idea I have encountered and ranks as amongst the top private pools in South West France. Generous steps and surrounded by a huge terrace, it is ideally suited to larger groups. It offers a saltwater purification system – maintaining crystal-clear, sparkling clean water that is odour-free and easy on the eyes and skin.
Whilst enjoying excellent levels of privacy and tranquillity, it nevertheless enjoys fabulous views over its infinity end over the lake below. A submerged “G&T step” and shelf say it all. Sun-worshipers have the choice of numerous recliners, parasols, or the more formal seating offered by sofa suites on the decking. An extended terrace to the rear is ideal for small children to play close-by, and the trampoline is within sight and hearing of the pool terrace.
Stunning by day, the pool area is equally impressive by night and enjoys three separate lighting circuits to ensure exactly the right mood after dark. An automatic roller-cover ensures pool safety for kids and its cleanliness and heat-retention when the pool is not in use.
- 12m x 6m saltwater infinity pool
- Clever steps double up as submerged seating area
- Automatic hard roller cover for kids security
- Very private and tranquil
- Huge terrace with range of recliners, parasols and outdoor furniture
